AN ACT TO AMEND ACT NUMBERED FORTY-ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY-FOUR, ENTITLED "AN ACT CREATING AN AVIATION UNIT IN THE PHILIPPINE CONSTABULARY."

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:

 

SECTION 1. Paragraph (c) of section two of Act Numbered Forty-one hundred and ninety-four, is hereby amended to read as follows:

"SEC. 2. (c) To provide for the examination and training of the personnel in the said Unit; and to create the grade of flying cadet in the Constabulary air corps for the purpose of appointing qualified applicants for flying training to such grade: Provided, however, That as long as the United States War Department authorizes the training of Filipino pilots without charge, such flying cadets, who are found to be qualified after receiving preliminary flying instruction in the Philippine Islands, shall be sent to the  United States Army flying schools for flying training when the number to be sent and the time to commence training is designated by the United States War Department: Provided, further, That the pay and allowances of flying cadets, while receiving flying training in the United States Army flying schools, shall be the same as those of flying cadets of the United States Army: And provided, finally, That the pay and allowances of a flying cadet while receiving flying instruction in the Philippine Islands shall be the same as those of the cadets at the Philippine Constabulary Academy."

SEC. 2. Paragraphs (i) and (j) are hereby inserted after paragraph (h), section two of Act Numbered Forty-one hundred and ninety-four, to read as follows:

"(i) To acquire by purchase necessary landing fields for the use of the Constabulary Aviation Unit.

 

"(j) To purchase equipment, tools and supplies and to hire labor as may be necessary for leveling, grading, conditioning and fencing said landing fields."

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
